MOPO wins award for self-service portal provided by Adnuntius

German newspaper Hamburger Morgenpost has won the Nova Award in the category “Marketing Innovation” announced by the Federal Association of Digital Publishers and Newspaper Publishers (BDZV) in Berlin.

MOPO Werbelokal (German for “advertising space”), an Adnuntius product, is being recognised as an innovative way of giving small advertisers the opportunity to run simple ads on MOPO.de, without the need for a high level of technical knowledge or a high budget. Later years have seen these advertisers moving to large international corporations, such as Google and Facebook, many of whom do not even pay taxes in Germany. MOPO Werbelokal challenges what used to be a strong USP for these corporations, namely the ease with which a smaller business can book and monitor their campaigns.

Easy use for smaller advertisers

Campaigns with a €50+ budget can be booked, with just a picture and a short text. Because of MOPOs strong geographical presence and quality journalism, smaller advertiser now have easy access to premium inventory in a much easier way.

In a recent Hamburger Morgenpost article, MOPO Director of Partnerships & Digital Business Felix Herkenrath says: “We are very proud to have received this award for the MOPO advertising space. We hope that many other media companies will follow our example and also build a locally anchored counter-offer to the major US platforms." At Adnuntius we certainly hope the same!
