Semantic Targeting and Reporting

In case you missed it earlier: Adnuntius customers can use AI and large language modeling to effectively match ads to the most relevant content. This privacy friendly targeting method creates a deeper understanding of content to bring the next generation of contextually relevant advertising.

It’s easy to use: just add any text to a campaign’s semantic targeting, and get a preview of the types of articles you target.

Add any text, adjust your requirements for matching levels, and see what you typically get.

You can combine semantic targeting with frequency capping based on impressions, viewable impressions and clicks, and with other targeting criteria such as location, keywords, and first party data.

Read more about our semantic targeting. Here is an example of how it can work: Imagine that a car dealer wants to promote electric cars. It’s easy to match electric car ads against articles that contain specific keywords, but our solution can consider news stories that discuss for instance higher petrol prices to be relevant. The language models create a far better understanding of both the advertisers' needs and the content of the pages.

Reporting improvements

All campaigns, whether contextually targeted or not, provide you with an overview of all articles where your ad was shown. More specifically, here is what you get per page:

  • Bid responses let you know where you were bidding.

  • Impressions.

  • Viewables are the impressions that were in screen.

  • Clicks and clickrate.

  • Match score.

A word on the latter: match scores are a new way of quantifying the match between your ad and the page where it is shown. Contextual targeting is traditionally qualitative in nature, where you subjectively determine if there is a fit. Match scores provides a supplement to that, as it gives you a statistical fitness between the page and the ad. Now you will have a tool to determine campaign performance over time!
